CLOSED: Falling Leaves Shawl Testing Call

The Shawl is inspired by changing seasons of autumn featuring a simple leaf lace reminiscent of autumnal woodlands, perfect for those cool autumn days. Worked in 4ply and mohair on a fairly loose gauge this shawl is light fluffy and warm, using surprisingly little yarn. Constructed from the small edge up you can make this as big or small as you like.

Size: 60” / 150cm long & 44” / 112cm wide

Yarn: 4ply & lace held together. Sample is made in Hobbii Alpaca Silk (166m/50g) in ‘Marrakesh’ & Kid Silk (195m/25g) in ‘Red Clay’

Yardage:

4ply: 125g / 415m

Lace: 50g / 390m

Needles: 5.5mm straight or circular needles

Needle size is recommended, choose a size needed to achieve gauge

Gauge: 14 stitches & 24 rows per 4” / 10cm in garter stitch after blocking

Gauge is not critical for this design but consider the yardage and final size will change if gauge is not met.

Deadline: 2nd November 2021
