Arrow Bralette aka. Halter(ish) Bralette - Out Now!
The release date for this pattern is 5th May 2023. Therefore I ask that you only apply if you are certain you can finish the test by the deadline. For reference I knit size B in about 2 weeks of knitting solely on this project. You do not need to knit your test in the suggested yarn.
If you are keen to knit one of the larger sizes I of course understand that this will take longer than the smallest sizes, in this case please add to the notes section a rough estimate of how long you think it would take you to finish the garment, and I am happy to discuss the deadline in more detail.
I'm really looking for a great bunch of committed test knitters on this one to make sure I can get the polished pattern out in time for the summer knitting season, so if you have read this far then you are on the right track!
Deadline: 28th April 2023
Sizes: A (B, C, D, E) (F, G, H, I)
28” (32”, 36”, 40”, 44”) (48”, 52”, 56”, 60”) / 72 cm (81 cm, 91 cm, 102 cm, 111 cm) (121 cm, 132 cm, 142 cm, 152 cm)
Choosing your size and fit: The stated measurements are for the actual garment, choose a size with your desired ease, at least 2” / 5 cm negative ease is recommended.
Yarn: Sample knitted in Sandnes Sunday (235m/50g)
Note: To get the stretch needed for a tight fitting top like this you will need to use a yarn with stretch, pure plant based blends or silk will not have enough stretch to achieve the tight fit of the design. A 100% wool or wool/cotton blend with a high wool percentage will work best.
Yardage:
60 (70, 80, 90, 100) (110, 120, 130, 140) grams
282 (329, 376, 423, 470) (517, 564, 611, 658) metres
Note: These yardages are for the recommended body length, if you make the top longer you will need additional yardage.
Needles: 2.5 mm & 3 mm circular needles and/or DPNs
Needle sizes are recommended, choose a size needed to achieve gauge. The smaller needles should be 0.5 mm smaller than the larger needles.
Gauge: Stretched gauge: 19 stitches per 4” / 10 cm in 2x2 rib on larger needles after blocking. Row gauge is not as important.
Notions: 1 spare cable or waste yarn to hold the front, at least 2 stitch markers to help with placement of increases.
Difficulty:
Confident beginner / intermediate. This pattern requires only basic knit, purl and simple increase stitches, straps are made with an icord technique. The top is knitted for flat and in the round from the bottom up. Due to the small gauge of the pattern this may be tricky if you have never constructed a garment like this.
OPEN FOR SIZE F, G, H, and I ONLY!
Deadline: 28th April 2023
